Abstract: This presentation will describe current efforts at IBM Research to advance scale-out platforms for traditional and emerging commercial workloads. It will discuss our experience so far in exploring specialized operating system environments for achieving manage simplification and performance optimization.
Bio: Dr. Dilma Da Silva is a Research Staff Member at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. She is part of the K42 team. Her primary research interests are operating systems, distributed computing, and high-end computing. She received her PhD in Computer Science in 1997 from Georgia Institute of Technology. She was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, from 1997 to 2000.
